I have been teaching here at Powder Springs Elementary for four years now. I graduated with my undergrad from Kennesaw State University and will complete my Masters from the University of Florida at the end of this year, 2015. I am married with a son who will turn 1 in November, we have a dog, Kosher, and cat, Cambria.
I love teaching art. I believe in what I do. At the very least, art teaches children another way to communicate and converse with other members of their community and family. Art is a form of expression and giving children another way to express themselves opens more pathways to communication and higher levels of understanding for both the child and the person seeing the work. Art also furthers communities and cultures through its use of visual expression. Teaching children how to tell stories through their artwork is a great form of documentation and culture sharing.
At the end of the day, I want your child to look back on art class and remember loving it.
